Pre-angled Beams – Achieve greater internal space than with a standard curve. Provides effective bracing against winds
King Pole Door – Door can be used as a canopy by adding additional king poles through the door eyelets, providing shelter from sun or rain
Diamond Clear Windows – Maximise light and visibility to provide a bright and airy environment
Easy Access Doors – A flat entry access door creates easy access for wheelchairs, prams and people with reduced mobility
Mesh Front Door – Fitted with internal mesh fly screen for bug-free ventilation
TBS®II Tension Band System – Ensures awning performs in adverse conditions, especially in strong, changeable winds. When tensioned, the bands brace the beam or pole at 3 points and prevent sideways movement. Adjust TBS®II to remove slack. Do not over tension, as this may deform the poles. Can be stowed away in calm weather
Easy Pack Carry Bag – Oversized carry bag to make it easier to pack the awning away
Toggled Privacy Curtains – Easy to use privacy curtains that can be simply rolled away when not in use
Fully Wind & Rain Tested – Tested with wind and heavy rainfall to the European standard EN5912
Multiple Vehicle Attachment Methods – All our awnings come with pre-attached 6mm kador, 8M over vehicle straps, roof bar attachment tabs and sleeve for pole & clamp kit system. This ensures our awnings are compatible with any vehicle
High Visibility Guy Lines – High visibility lower half to prevent tripping hazards and ensure stability in high winds
Bracer Pole Included – Secured in between main poles to enhance stability
Tunnel Adjustment Strap – Helps collect any excess material and creates a neater looking tunnel and a tighter fit to the vehicle
Supplied with Steel Pegs – Strong and durable pegs ideal for grass pitches. Supplied with a handy carry bag
AirZone™ Ventilation – High and low level ventilation panels combine to create a comfortable flow of air throughout the awning, which is essential for reducing condensation
Lantern Hanging Points – Conveniently positioned to attach your light(s) with ease
Roll Away Connecting Tunnel – Detach your awning when you drive away for the day, simply roll back the tunnel and toggle it to secure
Two Doors in Tunnel Attachment to Vehicle – For convenient access to the front or back of your vehicle
AirBeam® Pump Included – Double action pump that will rapidly inflate your AirBeam® awning which comes complete with a pressure dial and handy carry bag
Touring Awning – This awning is designed for touring use; it is not designed for static or long-term seasonal pitching as extensive exposure to UV light will cause accelerated fabric degradation. UV degradation is not covered under the warranty. However, under normal holiday use your awning will give long service
Inflatable AirBeam® Structure – With 10 years’ experience in AirBeam® technology, we are the leaders in pole free pitching. AirBeam® technology ensures your awning is erect within a matter of minutes (supplied with double action pump)
Sewn-in Groundsheet – Provides a bug and draught free environment. Groundsheet is attached to the flysheet with an external storm skirt to give all-round protection
Sentinel Active Fabric – When pack size and weight are the key influencers in choosing your awning, our specifically designed Sentinel Active fabric will surpass your needs. Sentinel Active is strong, while being fully waterproof, ensuring great quality and performance coupled with compact pack sizes
Drive Away – Using the addition of a Drive Away Kit, detach the tunnel area of your awning from your vehicle and roll it away leaving your awning free-standing as you explore for the day. Keep a note of your parking position for when you return and re-attach the awning to your vehicle
We stock the Vango FAROS II Air Beam Low. Vango Awnings are a firm favourite with campervanners and have been for years now. This awning was introduced in 2021 as an upgrade yet still retains its predecessors fantastic price point! The air pole system means there is no chance of a rogue fiberglass pole scraping your vehicle by accident when erecting the tent!
The Faros II is a compact awning ideal for weekends and small trips. Because of this it takes up little space in your vehicle. It’s a necessity when weather turns and you need a shelter between your van and the outside elements, Perfect for those of us with a small family or simply meeting with likeminded friends.
The drive away awning benefits from Vango’s strong and lightweight Sentinel Active fully waterproof fabric. It has a new slightly darker colour finished with red embellishments and guy ropes that give the awning a ‘premium’ look. The colour is ideal to match most vehicle liveries.
As you would expect the awning comes complete with quality pegging accessories and a manual pump. The only thing you may wish to add is a KADOR Bar to match your vehicle’s awning rail slot. Either 6 or 8mm. (Available at our store here at CamperHappy.)
A clear indication of the thought that goes into all Vango awnings, regardless of the RRP, is across the board features such as the Tension Band System. You will no doubt use it rarely, but when caught out by a strong wind this could be just the thing that saves your tent and vehicle from possible damage!
If comfort and ease of pitching is top of your list with a camper van awning, then this could just be the tent for you. Vango make a quality product and despite this in theory being their entry level model it really is an impressive all-round extension to your living van! You will find with a Vango product you get a lot more features for your money.
If you own a Vango tent you understand the company’s expertise, born from years of experience!
Vango has always been known for their high-quality camping accessories. This comes as no surprise because the company was born out of a high-quality sail making business based directly alongside the River Clyde.
A little about VANGO…
The company’s best-known product, the Vango Force Ten tent, introduced in 1967, is notably durable and famous for being bright orange. The name is derived from its design. To be able to withstand the winds of a ‘Force 10’ gale. The Force Ten Classic is now seen as iconic.
Roll on 55 years and Vango are now renowned for products designed to be used everywhere from the campsite to summit, from the trail to mountain. But far and away the best reason to buy VANGO is their commitment to your tent’s longevity! With other brands, if you have an accident and your tent needs repairing you are on your own to find a suitable repair shop. Mainly because these companies are based abroad and as with all products now-adays they are manufactured the other side of the globe! This can also bring big problems when it comes to warranty claims! Vango is different! Vango has a U.K. based Spares and Repairs service They can repair your outdoor gear to give it a second life of adventure. Where anything is beyond repair, all component parts are recycled for use in future repairs, as well as upcycling as much of the remaining fabrics as possible, dramatically reducing landfill
