Thetford Tecma Nano

The Tecma Nano may be the cheapest of our macerating toilet range, but it is possibly the easiest to fit and is also the most economical on water usage. Many larger motorhomes are now adopting a system of large black water holding tanks. Indeed, many American RVs use this system alongside a dump through toilet. This system is also common on narrowboats where the toilet is located directly above the black tank. Flushing simply opens a trap door at the base of the toilet and gravity does the rest! Issues can occur, as can smells with this type of system. A macerating toilet is just a lot more pleasant to both use and maintain!

The Tecma Nano is great to retrofit in place of gravity toilets or for new builds, it is short which allows you to build a small plinth and put the toilet on top of this. The plinth is a great way to hide any additional pipework you may require, or to raise the level of the black tank to maximise capacity.

The Tecma Nano is best suited to motorhome configurations because we supply it with the ECO rocker switch. Many macerator toilets work on a flush cycle. Press a button and a flush cycle will ensue using a pre-programmed amount of water. If you are just flushing a number one this can use an excessive amount of water. So, the rocker switch will only flush for the amount of time you hold it down allowing the user to do a small or large flush as required.

To fit the toilet in a motorhome is really simple. Full instructions come with the toilet, but basically you connect a pressured water supply to the toilet via supplied solenoid. Plumb the toilet outlet to your black water tank via 38mm I.D. flexible sanitation hose (we sell this separately) and wire in through a fused 12-volt supply. And that is it! If you are retrofitting it into a tank with a larger inlet we can even help manufacture an adapter piece.

Manufactured and designed in Italy the fit and finish of these toilet are exceptional from the soft close lid to the ceramic bowls finish. They are quality. Spare parts and service kits are available although we would expect them to last a long time with normal usage. As with all mobile toilets you should not put anything down the toilet other than ones, twos or toilet paper. The macerator makes emptying your black tank easy helps keep it free of solids, that can cause blockages, but a macerator cannot cope with wipes/ sanitary products etc.

The performance of the macerator pump meets all quality standards, while the technology inside the toilet has been further developed to keep the sound emission to the lowest level possible. Water and electrical consumption is kept to minimal levels. The installation, plumbing and wiring is easy and fast, with virtually no maintenance.
