LED spots are often used as plinth lights to illuminate walkways giving an air of space to a compact living area. These particular LED courtesy lights feature a half moon stainless steel cover which will help direct the light downwards, but also gives a lovely defining feature against the background of which the light is mounted.

The LED lights themselves are made from a clear techno polymer plastic which allows the round fitting bezel to be almost invisible to the eye when fitted. To fit these lights, you drill a 20mm hole through your panel pass the light through and screw a retaining nut up behind the panel. Easy to fit, they will stay secure permanently as opposed to lights that rely on a ‘press’ fit which can be prone to coming loose overtime. They will screw through panels up to 20mm thick , although if you counterbored the back they can work in thicker panels.

These lights are rated to IP68, which means they are deemed fit enough to withstand dust and dirt ingress and being submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes! These are quality and are so suitable for use in external areas that will get wet.

Fantastic mood lighting scenes can be achieved by arranging different coloured lighting in different areas of your motorhome or caravan. Often blue is used as a plinth light for mood lighting but white can be overlooked – especially as it can really add to the feeling of space and light along what can be awkward narrow spaces in caravans, motorhomes, narrowboats and the like.
