Brunner Electronic Fridge Fan

Why do you need a fridge fan? Well the space behind your fridge – behind where you see 2 vents on your outside wall gets hot. Hot. The heat that has been sucked out of your fridge is deposited here via cooling coils and fins. When the weather is hot outside this space can get too hot to allow the fins and coils to cool fast enough, so your fridge will not run efficiently, and cooling will suffer or can stop altogether. Simply put those vents need a fan to help suck the hot air out of this space to help cool the coils and fins on the rear of your fridge freezer.

Generally considered Brunner’s budget fan, this still packs some useful features unique to this model. Most notably the ability to adjust the temperature that the fans kick in. Between approximately 25 and 50 degrees as measured by the supplied thermostat. The fan just requires a 5 Amp fused 12volt supply.

All other connections between the fan itself, thermostat and the control panel are plug and play.

When using the Brunner electronic fan there are 2 modes of operation: auto or manual. Auto mode means the fan cuts in at the predefined temperature between 25 and 50 degrees. Over 50 degrees the fan will spin at its fastest setting, below it will be slower. The manual mode just puts the fan on at its highest speed setting. The advantage of this is to force the fan to keep cooling working even when the temperature drops into a humid evening. You can also turn the fan off via the control panel, useful to save battery power overnight when the fan is less likely needed.

The range of Brunner fridge fans are a good cost-effective universal solution to more expensive manufacturer specific fridge fan kits. This kit has a printed installation guide in the box. A small amount of practical knowledge is required but it’s an easy item to fit.
