Battery Power Centre Deluxe

This is a fantastic for camping trips where you do not have electrical hook-up, or a limited power supply. Caravans, campervans and tents and extremely useful at festivals and rallies. This battery box takes a standard cheap leisure battery (not included) and turns it into a power centre from which you can run all sorts of peripherals. 

To set up the centre you simply insert your battery into the enclosure and connect it to the fly leads supplied. The lid is then securely strapped around the box meaning you can carry the unit anywhere needed.

The lid has 2 insulated screw terminals on it, perfect to charge the battery via a standard car battery charger or solar panel. Also great for powering larger loads (possibly even jump starting).

There is a double waterproof USB outlet that will keep your smart gadgets and GPS charged while the standard 12-volt socket can provide power to things like a thermo electric fridge. 

There is a thermal overload circuit breaker on the lid and a LED battery charge indicator which gives an indication to the battery state of charge, although it seems only to read fully charged when a 13.2 + charging voltage is applied. So, this can be taken only as a guide.

When you are camping for extended periods, the problem with stored electricity is it doesn’t last forever! But this is where a small suitcase solar panel comes into it own. Purchased separately you can simply connect to the external battery terminals via crocodile clips and keep your battery charged throughout the day, enough to 12 volt / USB lights etc in the evenings.

We have one of these in our motorhome as an emergency power supply, I have it currently powering a 50 litre compressor 12v compressor fridge in my office and it runs the fridge easily for 2 – 3 days between charges.
