You have options here; A thermoelectric cooler will cost you very little money, but it will consume a lot of battery power. A compressor type fridge is energy efficient; it will only run as required by the internal thermostat, but they can struggle to keep things frozen in really cold weather. (not normally a problem in a heated van). Then you have absorption fridges that can run on gas, 240v hook up or 12 volt too.
